Congratulations! You have come to Note Master (4) – line notes GBDF. It takes two steps to figure out these line notes. If you can say “yes” to these questions, you are ready to tell the line notes on the staff.
- Have you mastered the space notes – FACE for the treble and bass staff?
- Can you say musical alphabet in order? A–B–C–D–E–F–G–A… etc.
Look at the image below.
Green dots are for the space notes and as you know, they are FACE from the bottom. Let’s find out the name of the note on the fourth line from the bottom. The third space from the bottom is C, and the line note above the C space (the fourth line) will be named the next letter after C in music alphabet. It’s D. You can follow the same steps to tell the line notes on the bass staff.
Do you feel like you need some practice? Use the flashcards. It may take longer time than you’d like to spend, but you will get used to it soon. Just take your time, follow the steps and try to find a right answer for each card.
